Challenges
To accelerate transportation digitalization, the customer aimed to integrate three existing toll collection systems—including a Free-Flow Tolling System—into a unified architecture. This required real-time vehicle recognition, automated payment processing, and seamless data exchange across multiple subsystems.

Application: Free-Flow Tolling System
At the toll gate, vehicles are detected through cameras, sensors, and RFID readers. The eBOX710A performs real-time license plate recognition, vehicle classification, and transaction validation at the edge. Processed data is then securely transmitted to the cloud, where centralized monitoring, analytics, and payment management ensure fast, accurate, and efficient toll collection.
By integrating the eBOX710A into the Free-Flow Tolling System, the customer achieved real-time communication between roadside sensors, high-resolution cameras, and the central control platform. This enabled automated toll collection, improved system responsiveness, and eliminated operational bottlenecks across connected highways.
