Using a network server at the edge—closer to the point of data creation—helps optimize system throughput and can analyze large amounts of data on-site or on devices and deliver actionable insights in near real-time. As the scale of edge computing grows, security challenges specific to the edge also require remote network servers to protect against vandalism, theft and hacking. Our Solution
The Axiomtek NA870 is powered by the dual LGA4189 sockets 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon scalable processors with the Intel® C621A or C627A chipset. The dual-processor-based NA870 comes with eight to forty powerful cores and a wide variety of features. It supports frequencies and power ranges for diverse network environments, and it can help optimize many workload types and performance levels. It features two Gigabit Ethernet ports and eight expandable NIC modules supporting 1 GbE/10 GbE/Fiber/Copper/Bypass. Moreover, the NA870 is equipped with twenty DDR4-3200 R-DIMM slots with a memory capacity of up to 1280GB. For even greater memory, the NA870 supports Intel® Optane™ Persistent Memory (PMem), which enables the chip to retain data even when powered off and offers AES 256-bit hardware encryption to protect data at rest from cyberattacks. The NA870 also has two hot-swappable 2.5-inch SATA HDD trays at the front of the system and two M.2 Key M 2242/2280 supporting PCIe and SATA signal for storage expansions. In addition, there are two PCIe x16 expansion slots available for an add-in riser card.
The NA870 features Intelligent Platform Management Interface 2.0 (IPMI 2.0) to allow users to remotely manage and monitor servers and supports Trusted Platform Module 2.0 to provide data encryption for hardware-based data protection. The NA870 also features Intel® Crypto Acceleration technology, a feature of 3rd generation Intel® Xeon Scalable processors that increases the performance of encryption intensive workloads including SSL web serving, 5G infrastructure, and VPN/ firewalls, while reducing the performance impact of pervasive encryption.
